ASTRA and the associated semiconductor equipment ecosystem initiative represent a strategic effort to build capability in the tools, utilities, and process-support systems that underpin semiconductor manufacturing. The logic is simple but nationally significant: building chips sustainably also requires building competence in the tools that build the chips.
This initiative positions ESE not only as a contributor to devices and circuits, but also as a participant in the larger question of how India strengthens self-reliance in semiconductor process equipment, test infrastructure, and manufacturing-support ecosystems.
